Food Teacher’s Centre Presenter, Health and Safety Trainer, Mentor, Teaching and Learning Coach.
I have had a long career, teaching Food in a variety of different middle and secondary schools for 34 years. More latterly I have been Head of Design Technology in a multi-cultural school in Bedfordshire.
I currently work part time teaching Food and Nutrition in a Buckinghamshire School.
I have been privileged to have been involved in the Licence to Cook initiative as a Lead Practitioner, the Food in Schools Scheme, working in collaboration with primary schools and the Teach Food Technology project, retraining non specialists to become Food Teachers. I have been a teacher trainee mentor to Food and Textile specialists with the Chiltern Training Group.
As an associate with the Food Teachers Centre I have actively been involved in the researching and presenting of CPD courses for Food Teachers, Outstanding Food and GCSE Schemes of Work and leading online support discussions.
Co-author of the 2016 Revision Guide ‘GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition’ (Collins).
