My background

I have been a Head of D&T in a high achieving school and a Hertfordshire County AST for Food Technology. I have worked as a consultant driving forward food training programmes such as Licence to Cook and Teach Food Technology. I currently train for the DATA Teach Food Safely course and work as a freelance food education consultant and trainer. Recent workshops and training have been with University of East London, Buckingham Learning Trust, Keynote Education Outstanding Food Technology GCSE course, the DATA Summer School and The Food Teacher’s Centre Face to Face event. I am the author of the website/ blog ‘’ and of books developing food science literacy. I am a member of the Guild of Food Writers.

Co-author of the 2016 Revision Guide ‘GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition’ (Collins).

My expertise

I am a B.Ed (Manchester) and an M.Ed (Cambridge) and together with vast teaching and management experience in secondary schools I can now provide effective training, presentations and support for teachers. I have also developed a website and blog to provide the motivation and learning support for food education.
