Leiths School of Food and Wine is a long standing and well-known cookery school in West London. Established by Prue Leith in 1975 it has an enviable Alumni and a reputation for unpretentious and up to date cookery teaching. In 1995, Leiths Academy was launched, taking our unique style of individual teaching, and learning into schools, driven by our vision of enabling high quality practical cookery teaching for pupils of all ages. We now have a wide range of academic and lifestyle cookery courses designed for pupils aged 10 to 18 at State and Independent schools across the UK. We offer accredited academic courses at Level 2 and Level 3 for older pupils as well as life skills courses for all ages, including a new revolutionary app based online option which can be used with or without cookery teachers or dedicated cookery rooms. All our courses are hands on and practical, championing cooking from scratch in every lesson.

As a Leiths Academy School you have access to our broad range of cookery qualifications. Whether you are looking for a KS3 carousel scheme of work, a practical alternative to GCSE Food preparation and Nutrition or a KS5 culinary qualification with UCAS points; we have something for you. We also have options for Duke of Edinburgh skills, PSHE lessons or an after-school curriculum and all our courses come with a complete package of high-quality resources, from schemes of work to lesson plans, recipes with scalable shopping lists to an enviable collection of high-quality on-line cookery videos for students and teachers alike. We visit you in person to ‘team teach’ a lesson every term and return to run and mark all your practical exams. We even mark your coursework as we believe in supporting teachers and lightening their load.

As an Academy School you will become part of our growing Leiths community, supported by our team of highly qualified and cookery teachers, and will be invited to attend three days of bespoke training with us before you begin to deliver our courses. We also offer an ongoing programme of CPD and workshop opportunities which can be arranged for your team either at your own school, or with other cookery teachers at one of our ‘flagship’ academy cookery schools across the UK. In addition, you will be eligible for our bespoke design service to help you develop your cookery space, equipment, and team, as we know first-hand how valuable Leiths Academy status is for recruitment, retention, and growth.
Whether you have a cookery department or no facilities at all, whether you have cookery teachers or not, we can help you teach your young people to cook. All you need is to believe in the power of cookery and the importance of teaching children and young adults how to cook. We can help you do the rest.
